URSULA SEARLE

Ursula Searle (she/her/they) wears so many hats she is a milliner of the arts. She is a cross-disciplinary artist specialising in acting, singing, puppetry, dramaturgy and stage management. She is the Managing Director of the newly founded film production company Shadow Goose Entertainment, where she is currently producing the YouTube series Forging Friendships, raising money for charities worldwide.

 

Ursula graduated from Monash University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts (Performance/Theatre) and a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice).

A passionate advocate for her community, Ursula is the Equity President of the Victorian Branch of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance, as well as the co-founder and co-Chair of the Puppetry Committee under MEAA.

Ursula was nominated for a Green Room Award for her portrayal of Medium Alison in the Melbourne Theatre Company production of Fun Home in 2022. Ursula returned to the Melbourne Theatre Company in 2024 as an offstage swing for A Street Car Named Desire.  Ursula has toured internationally as Bluey in Bluey's Big Play. 

In October 2023 she reprised her role as the Princess in Pining for Affection: A Tree Musical as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival which was nominated for a Green Room Award. In 2025, Ursula performed as Pandy Paws in the National tour of Gabby's Dollhouse Live! as well as the brand new Australian Musical Clancy of the Outback by Marshall and Marrows Productions.

 

Outside of the performing arts, Ursula is a huge nerd. She is a sessional teacher at the Australian College of the Arts where she completed a Graduate Certificate of Higher Education (Creative Arts) and is a current Master of Fine Art (Cultural Leadership) student at NIDA. In her spare time, Ursula works at Cut Throat Knives as the Head of Business Development and as an apprentice bladesmith.

Ursula is a queer performer, produly represented by Ian White Management.
